What is the Companions feature?

The Companions feature allows you to group two or more turns that arrive together (for example, a patient and their family member), so you can call them, move them, and serve them as a single group.

This feature must be enabled for your account. If you don't see the options described in this article, contact your Customer Success Manager to activate it.

How to add a companion (new turn)

  1. Open the main patient's turn to see their side panel.
  2. Click the "+" button in the left sidebar of the panel.
  3. Select "Create new turn."
  4. Fill in the companion's information: name, phone, and service.
  5. Click "Save".

You will see the confirmation message "Companion added successfully" and the companion will appear as a numbered tab in the sidebar.

How to add a companion (existing turn)

  1. Open the main patient's turn.
  2. Click the "+" button.
  3. Type the name, phone, or turn number of the person already on the waiting list.
  4. Double-click the correct result to link them as a companion.

Note: only active turns appear in the search. A turn that has already been completed, marked absent, or removed cannot be linked, and the same companion cannot be added twice.

How to view a turn's companions

In the admin or staff view, grouped turns show an expandable "Companions [N]" button with the turn number and name of each person in the group. On the TV screen, the entire group is called together.

How to edit or unlink a companion

  1. Open the main turn's side panel.
  2. Click the numbered tab of the companion you want to edit.
  3. To edit, update the fields and click "Save".
  4. To unlink (without deleting the companion's turn), click the chain icon and confirm with "Unlink".

Group actions

Calling to a station, marking as "arrived", or reactivating applies automatically to the entire group. When completing a turn, you will be asked if you want to "Complete turn" (only that person) or "Complete turn and companions" (the entire group).
